The Construction Industry Training Board has awarded Wigan headquartered 3B Training Ltd a £250,000 contract to deliver a pilot programme across England, Scotland and Wales.
Last December 2024, in direct response to the findings from the Grenfell Tower inquiry, the Government published its Remediation Acceleration Plan, outlining its ambition to accelerate the pace of remediation for buildings with unsafe cladding.
Tim Balcon, Chief Executive at CITB, said: “People across the country need to feel assured that we have a competent and skilled workforce to deliver the urgently required remediation works.
“Our research shows investment is needed to ensure we have the capability and competency.”
Mathew Bewley, Managing Director at 3B Training Ltd, said: “Along with being appointed to deliver this training, we will also assemble a steering group of experts to help define the course content.”
The training courses for both installers and supervisors will be free to attend, and it is anticipated that course delivery will begin in early 2026 and will run nationwide.
